Wydając swoją nową płytę, tym razem w dobrze już znanym składzie 9-osobowego combo z gościnnym udziałem Cannibal Mitcha, Andrew Mitchbauera, Mitchelli the Kid i Half-Ape-Half-Mitcha, the Mitchiz (jak sami się pieszczotliwie nazywają, tzn. ilekroć leczą się nawzajem z przeziębień lub pocieszają po kolejnej podróży do Niemiec) wkraczają dumnie w XXII wiek.
Nagrana w zeszłym roku w ultraprofesjonalnym studio "XXII Century Sound Pioneers" (dzięki najnowszym osiągnięciom technologii dźwięku dostępna wkrótce również na winylu) to ich przepustka w niezbadany dotąd przez nikogo obszar muzycznych poszukiwań i odnalezień.
Jeśli sądzicie, że wiecie, jak może brzmieć instrumet o swojsko brzmiącej nazwie Vibr-O-Matic (TM) i czego da się dokonać z wirtuozerską sekcją dętą, to albo byliście już na koncercie Mitch & Mitch albo nie wiecie, o czym mówicie. Jeżeli wydaje się wam, iż znacie stan skrajnego odprężenia, to dopiero teraz zrozumiecie, jak bardzo byliście niespokojni. Mitch & Mitch is a Warsaw-based ensemble established in 2002 by Mitch & Mitch, both prominent and long-time figures in the Polish independent music scene.
Over the course of the first seven years, the band played as a quintet (two guitars, a bass, drums and percussion) at many prestigious festivals across Europe, including the I.D.E.A.L festival in Nantes and the SKIF festival in St. Petersburg. Then, Mitch & Mitch expanded into a nine-person ensemble, featuring a brass section and a vibraphone. The style of Mitch & Mitch’s music is a mixture of genres which results from the wide range of inspirations of the band’s members – stretching from Mancini, Esquivel, Bacharach, all of Tropicalia, through more avant-garde composers like Cage, Zorn or Frith, all the way to punk rock, jazz and electronica. They are dedicated to always keeping their music lively and interesting, never restricting themselves to one specific fashion of writing and performing. Mitch & Mitch have released four records, including the 2010 album XXII Century Sound Pioneers which captures the expanded line-up’s energy and inventiveness.
