Contemporary Noise Quintet – formacja założona przez braci Kapsa (Kuba i Bartek), wcześniej współtworzących legendę alternatywnego rocka Something Like Elvis. W skladzie zespolu znaleźli się również:

Tomek Glazik - saksofon tenorowy i barytonowy (Kult, SingSing Penelope, ex-4Syfon)
Wojtek Jachna - trabka (Mordy, Dubska, SingSing Penelope)
Pawel Urowski - kontrabas (Soul Esence, ex basista trashowo - death metalowych formacji DemoGorgon, Land of Anger)

W listopadzie 2006 r. do grupy dołączył gitarzysta Kamil Pater, a na początku 2007 roku basista Patryk Węcławek znany z formacji SingSing Penelope zastąpił dotychczasowego basistę Pawła Urowskiego.

Muzykę zespołu można określić jako energetyczny jazz, z elementami muzyki filmowej, jednak różnorodność dźwięków nie pozwala jednoznacznie zaszufladkować wypracowanego przez muzyków stylu. Muzycy CNQ nie są typowymi jazzmanami, wcześniejsze ich dokonania są bardzo rockowe, być może dlatego, dźwięki w ich wydaniu wyznaczą nową drogę muzyce jazzowej.

Zespół zadebiutował jesienią 2006 albumem “Pig Inside The Gentelman”, wydanej nakladem zalozonej przez braci Kapsa wytworni Electric Eye Records. Płyta okazała się niemałym pozytywnym zaskoczeniem dla fanów jazzu i nie tylko. Jej recenzje wciąż ukazują się na łamach największych gazet muzycznych w Polsce, a koncerty gromadzą bardzo liczną, żądną nowych emocji jazzowych publiczność. W krótkim czasie CNQ, “nowa nadzieja polskiego jazzu” osiągnął sukces. W wielu rankingach podsumowujących rok, płyta “Pig Inside The Gentelman” zajęła czołowe lokaty w kategoriach “muzyczna nadzieja roku” oraz “jazzowa płyta roku” (w m.in. plebiscycie Programu Trzeciego Polskiego Radia). Koncerty CNQ spotkają się z entuzjastycznym przyjęciem. (independent.pl)

Contemporary Noise Quintet – the band established by Kapsa brothers, who earlier formed Something Like Elvis the legendary emo-hardcore band. CNQ’s musicians are also: Tomek Glazik – saxophones (Kult, ex-4Syfon, Sing, Sing Penelope), Wojtek Jahna – trumpet (Sing, Sing Penelope, Mordy) and the guitar player Kmil Pater who joined the band in November 2006 and lately Patryk Weclawek (bass) who replaced Pawel Urowski.

CNQ’s music can be described as energetic jazz with the elements of film music. However, the variety of sounds does not allow pigeonholing their music style unambiguously. The debut record “Pig Inside The Gentleman” was released in autumn 2006. It collected favourable reviews and became one of the records of the year in the plebiscite of III Program of Polish Radio. In November CNQ toured in several cities of Poland. The concerts were enthusiastically received. What is more, the band gained approving reviews in press:

The compositions are unbelievably spacious but on the other hand all fulfilled with instruments – from the superb rhythm combo to the greatly equipped brass section. The roots of the most of CNQ’s musicians reach harder music, sometimes even heavy metal what bears excellent interest. The compositions are vigorous and expressive. The name of the band must be remembered because it undoubtedly is Polish export commodity.”
