Niewiele osób chyba pamięta, że ten nieistniejący już zespól z Norwegii gościł w Polsce w zamierzchłych latach osiemdziesiątych (to był 1981) podczas festiwalu "Pop Session" w Sopocie. Występował wówczas razem z De Press, Kryzysem i Tiltem. Można nawet było kupić sobie płytę. Pamiętam, że koncert wywarł na mnie duże wrażenie, a dokładnie klimat "około koncertowy". Grupa na pewno przyczyniła się do nowofalowej eksplozji w Polsce tak jak wcześniejszy występ w Warszawie grupy The Raincoast. Warto sobie przypomnieć tą muzykę.
Kjott (Meat in English) was a punk band from Oslo, Norway. The lineup consisted of singer Helge Gaarder, drummer Michael Krohn, guitarists Erik Aasheim and Joran Rudi and bass guitarist Per Tro. They were active from 1979 to 1981 and released one of the most classic norwegian punk seven inches “Ett nytt og bedre liv” in February 1980. Right after they followed up with one just as classic 12” EP. The band went on to tour Poland in 1981 together with The Aller Varste! and De Press. Then the band turned more experimental and released one more 7” and the full-length album “Op. “. A compilation album called “1979-1981” was released in 1989. Michael Krohn started Raga Rockers when Kjott broke up. Helge Gaarder died in 2004.
