Proszę Państwa - oto nagrania niejakiego Jerry Raysona. Postać praktycznie nieznana - muzyk prawdopodobnie ma korzenie latynoamerykańskie, co słychać zresztą. Muzyka? No cóż, sami posłuchajcie - totalnie odjechany i psychodeliczny folk, a nawet zaryzykowałbym określenie street-folk (poniżej muzyczna próbka). W każdym razie tym, którzy lubią Holy Modal Rounders, Fugs. Red Crayola czy Davida Peela oraz fanom wszelkich muzycznych dziwactw serdecznie polecam.
“In this album I only use three sounds instead of all of them and three languages with African accents. The music of it is called primitive soul music...If you enjoy the new and the weird, this is for you.”
The album references boogaloo and limbo, journeys into space, with time out for an extended anti-junkie and -hobo rant. Acid Archives called Jerry Rayson's "Weird thing In Town" "...spaced out fringe folk with unusual inner-city vibe and Puerto Rican tangents."
To quote from the cover, “My theory of music is to explore in the unknown vibrations of sounds, to create psychedelic ways of thinking which I make mostly with primitive sounds by adding them together…If you enjoy the weird and the new, this is for you” --- Jerry Rayson
Jerry Rayson, an obscure late 60’s/early 70’s New York street poet and paintbrush artist. A latin hardcore David Peel type, only more obscure and into heroin.
